Making Their Mark
Beyond the Classroom

Life is more than exams, here you’ll find a whole host of transformational co-curricular activities, sporting challenges and student leadership opportunities to help each student make their mark on the world.

Students can gain confidence and experience by joining the Student Council or by becoming House Captains or Prefects.

There are also opportunities to contribute to and learn from local and global communities through volunteering projects and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Programme.

THE HOUSE SYSTEM

Every student at Knewton Global Schools Miri is assigned to one of four houses within the school – Sharks, Cobras, Lions and Dragons.

These houses form smaller communities within the school, which allow students to interact with staff and students outside of their normal cohort.

House Captains are elected each year from the student body and they are expected to motivate their peers to compete in house events, as well as acting as role models.

Students actively try to acquire ‘house points’ for their respective houses through participation in house events as well as through their attitude in lessons. These points are totalled throughout the year and the winning house is presented with a trophy at the end of an academic year.
