International Primary School Teacher

Knewton Global Schools Miri is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced International Primary School Teacher.

Knewton Global Schools Miri is located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the north coast of the island of Borneo. Our campus has both a British International and a National Private School, caring for approximately 530 students aged 3-17 years old from a wide range of nationalities and backgrounds.

Our International Primary School follows the British National Curriculum and the IPC.

The Role:

We are looking for an inspirational, energetic, dynamic and highly motivated Primary Class Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team to provide quality teaching and learning for our students. There will be middle leadership opportunities for suitably qualified candidates.

Job Requirements:

  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed., PGCE).
  • English proficiency at excellent level.
  • Minimum two years’ teaching experience in primary years education.
  • Experience teaching in the British education system either in the UK or in international schools preferred.
  • Good knowledge of the British National Curriculum and experience in delivering lessons using the IPC.
  • Ability to communicate with students, colleagues and parents, and to build strong relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • A willingness and commitment to contribute fully to the life of the students and school beyond the academic day, including active participation in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes.

Job Requirements:

  • Must possess at least a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (a teaching qualification would be an advantage).
  • Preferably those who can teach a combination of subjects/levels.
  • A minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
  • Have excellent subject knowledge of the Malaysian National Curriculum.
  • Patient, caring, responsible and passionate about teaching.
  • Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Malay and English.
  • A team player and flexible to meet the needs of the department.

Knewton Global Schools Miri is seeking to recruit Personal Learning Assistant who can provide one-to-one support to pupils with additional needs.  These assistants will be responsible for promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil to whom they are assigned, to enable him/her to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.

Job Description:

  • Minimum qualification of SPM with English, Maths and Science (but further qualifications in education or childcare would be desirable).
  • Experience in working with children would be advantageous.
  • Excellent command of English is essential.
