Knewton Global Schools Miri is located on the northern shore of the island of Borneo in the Malaysian state of Sarawak. Our campus is home to both a British International and a National Private School, caring for around 530 students ranging in age from 3 to 17 and hailing from a multitude of nationalities and cultural backgrounds.

We are inviting qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educators to apply for the position of Early Years class teacher. Our school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework for early years education for England.

The applicant must possess the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree;
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed., PGCE, BA Early Childhood Education …)
  • English proficiency at excellent level;
  • Minimum two years’ teaching experience;
  • Be a nurturing and inspiring educator that ensures a high-quality learning experience;
  • Have the ability to think creatively and innovatively in order to continually improve their classroom practice;
  • Be well-versed in using technology to support learning and teaching in the classroom;
  • Possess the interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively in teams;
  • Have experience with enquiry-based learning and/or thematic cross-curricular learning.
  • Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives;
  • Take a full and active role in supporting extracurricular activities and delivering the School’s Guiding statement and development plans.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced English teacher to teach English subject throughout the Secondary (Malaysian National Curriculum).  

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a recognised teaching qualification related to the subject taught;
  • Have extensive experience teaching English in the Secondary levels up to SPM;
  • Have significant experience and knowledge of the Malaysian National Curriculum;
  • Inspire students and ensure a high-quality learning experience in English;
  • Develop, implement and deliver a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum in English across the Secondary School up to SPM;
  • Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives;
  • Assess, record and report on the progress, development and attainment of students to support their learning;

The Role:

We are looking for an inspirational, energetic, dynamic and highly motivated International Secondary Science Teacher-Biology to join our dynamic teaching team to provide quality teaching and learning for our students. There will be middle leadership opportunities for suitably qualified candidates.

Job Requirements:

  • Holds a Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Experience teaching in the Cambridge Syllabus in international schools preferred.
  • Good knowledge of the Cambridge Science Curriculum and experience in delivering practical lessons in labs.
  • Ability to communicate with students, colleagues and parents, and to build strong relationships with all members of the school community.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • A willingness and commitment to contribute fully to the life of the students and school beyond the academic day, including active participation in the academic enrichment and co-curricular programmes.

Job Requirements:

Knewton Global Schools Miri is seeking to recruit Personal Learning Assistant who can provide one-to-one support to pupils with additional needs.  These assistants will be responsible for promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil to whom they are assigned, to enable him/her to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.

Job Description:

  • Minimum qualification of SPM with English, Maths and Science (but further qualifications in education or childcare would be desirable).
  • Experience in working with children would be advantageous.
  • Excellent command of English is essential.
